AGRO-ECOLOGY

We are engaging Indigenous People in Agriculture through the following ways;
1 We are training youths and women on Kitchen garden,we train them on how to grow vegetables using sack garden,multi-storey garden and sack garden.
2 We are giving Education to Pastoralist on how to use organic manure in their farms
3 We have given trainings to organized farmers and network of small holder farmers on Agroecology
4 In order to provide alternative means of livelihood for Pastoralist Communities we have talked and Trained some Groups to grow Aloe Secundeflora which do well in Northern Kenya and easily available.Now we are in the process of looking for Market and we have also engaged Marsabit County Government to develop ABS policy to promote Bio-trade and benefit sharing.
5 Next year we want to set up a farming demo to train Indigenous People in different aspects and methods of farming.
6 We have formed a partnership with Khandere farmers producing a cooperative society in converting marsabit as the Food basket of Northern Kenya.
7 We are working with the Women Group in Songa with Tree Nursery to promote restoration of Forest and Agroforestry.
