Ethno-Botanical Research

Ethnobotanical research is a field of study that focuses on the relationships between people and plants, particularly how various cultures use plants for medicinal, culinary, spiritual, and other purposes.
In Ethno-Botanical Research we are documenting the Traditional knowledge held by indigenous and local communities regarding the uses of plants. This knowledge often encompasses medicinal properties, food sources, cultural significance, and other practical applications.
Already we are working with Waata Indigenous People in documenting their Herbal Medicine and other Genetic Resources. We have also develop the Register of Traditional Knowledge of Herbal Medicine and one of our plan this year is to document Traditional Knowledge of Herbal Medicine for 14 Indigenous Ethnic Communities living in Marsabit County.
